Pteranodon sternbergi:  The most distinctive feature of this very large pteranodon is its nearly upright crest.

Type Species: * P. longiceps (Marsh, 1876)
This Species: * P. sternbergi (Miller, 1972)
Wingspan: up to 30 feet (9.2 meters)
Weight: 100 pounds
Time: 65 million years ago (Late Cretaceous)
Place: South Dakota, Kansas
Diet: meat-eater (carnivore)
